A Message From A Happy Man...

Since I first sold the house, took the money, and hit the road in 1998, there's been a lot of changes in the world -- few for the better -- but the one constant has been the allure and appeal of America's back roads and small towns. My publisher was pleased with the sales and media attention sparked by the first edition and, in 2002, published a second edition in which I updated information for the Original 20 Tours. Tens of thousands of readers and riders throughout America and overseas were kind enough to rely on my book to help plan their trips, and the American Motorcyclist Association made it a premium part of their Diamond Level membership -- join up and you'd get a copy. That -- plus appearances as a prize on 'The Price Is Right' (true fact) and an endorsement by my favorite magazine, American Heritage, just made things better.

Now the new edition is on the shelves, packed with the Original 20 plus Five New Tours that will take you to and through:

Ozarks Scenic 7 (Arkansas)
Smoky Mountains Run (Tennessee and North Carolina)
Georgia Hills Run (Dahlonega to Helen)
Sawtooth Range Run (Idaho)
Oregon's Best Run (Cannon Beach-Florence-Sisters)

It was great to hit the road again and if you need personal encouragement to take off on your own ride, drop me an e-mail and I'll set you straight. You NEED to do a motorcycle tour. So with the new book out -- and your motorcycle adventure about to begin -- I can focus on keeping this website updated with just-reviewed links and information.

In the meantime, drop by your local bookstore, Barnes and Noble, Borders, or just go to amazon.com and grab a copy and take off on your own tour.

Ride safe, enjoy America, and thanks.
