1984 HONDA GL 1200A
Kuralt for the Blue Ridge Parkway was my Uncle Bud's 1984 Honda Aspencade.
It was dirty as hell, but as smooth as glass so I enjoyed it immensely.
I guess I learned that I didn't need a brand new bike to enjoy
the ride. On this, the shifting was smooth, everything was hyper-ergonomic
so I felt no strain, but its age also gave me the rough satisfaction
of knowing I was riding a bike and not a two-wheeled motorhome.
If you have an older bike that's mechanically sound, consider touring with it. I did and I didn't mind it at all.
